Julie's mother remarried a few years later, and Julie had a close relationship with her stepfather. However, in 1945, when Julie was just 16 years old, her stepfather was killed in a car accident. This was another devastating blow to Julie, and it left her feeling lost and alone.

Julie eventually went on to college, where she met her future husband, Robert Edsell. Robert was a kind and compassionate man, and he adored Julie. They were married in 1951, and they had two children, a boy and a girl.

For a few years, Julie's life seemed to be back on track. She had a loving husband, two beautiful children, and a successful career in real estate. However, in 1968, tragedy struck again. Her son, Robert Jr., was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Tay-Sachs disease. This incurable disease affects the nervous system and eventually leads to death.

Julie and Robert were devastated by their son's diagnosis. They spent the next few years caring for him as he slowly declined. Robert Jr. died in 1972, at the age of just four.

Julie's grief was unimaginable. She had lost her father, her stepfather, and now her son. Yet, she refused to give up hope. She continued to work in real estate, and she became involved in philanthropy. She founded the Robert Edsell Jr. Foundation, which provides support to families affected by Tay-Sachs disease.

Julie Edsell died in 2012, at the age of 83. She had lived a long and full life, despite the many tragedies she had experienced. She was a strong and resilient woman who never lost her faith or her determination. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on through the Robert Edsell Jr. Foundation.
