Author Biography

J.M. Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright. He is best known for creating the character of Peter Pan. Barrie was born in Kirriemuir, Scotland, and he studied at the University of Edinburgh. He began his writing career as a journalist, but he soon turned to fiction.

Barrie's first novel, Auld Licht Idylls, was published in 1888. He followed this with a series of successful plays, including The Little Minister (1891) and Quality Street (1902). In 1904, Barrie wrote Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. The play was an instant success, and it has since become one of the most beloved children's stories of all time.

Barrie continued to write for the rest of his life. He wrote several more plays, as well as novels and short stories. He also founded the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Barrie died in 1937, and he is buried in Kirriemuir.

Nelly Kazenbroot is a French-born artist who has illustrated over 50 children's books. She is best known for her whimsical and imaginative illustrations. Kazenbroot was born in Paris, France, and she studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. She began her career as a fashion illustrator, but she soon turned to children's books.

Kazenbroot's illustrations have been praised for their beauty and their ability to capture the imagination of children. She has won several awards for her work, including the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi Award. Kazenbroot lives in London, England, with her husband and two children.
