Fabry was born in 1960 with a rare eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa. This condition causes the retinas to gradually deteriorate, leading to blindness. By the age of 14, Fabry was completely blind.
Despite his blindness, Fabry never gave up on his dreams. He attended college and earned a degree in computer science. He also became an accomplished skier and rock climber.
In 2001, Fabry set his sights on Mount Everest. He knew that this would be a difficult challenge, but he was determined to prove that anything is possible.
Fabry trained for several years for his Everest expedition. He worked with a team of experienced climbers who helped him develop the skills he needed to climb the mountain safely.
In 2004, Fabry and his team set out for Everest. The climb was long and difficult, but Fabry never gave up. He used his skills as a rock climber to overcome the challenges of the mountain.
On May 25, 2004, Fabry reached the summit of Mount Everest. He was the first blind person to ever summit the world's highest peak.
Fabry's story is an inspiration to us all. It shows that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. No matter what challenges you face, never give up on your dreams.
